Today We Rest

I awoke at about 11:45 on Wednesday and had no idea where I was. After thinking about it for about a minute, I remembered I was in Vienna. I pictured the way the hotel room looked and was scared to open my eyes in case that wasn't where I was. I was still drunk and my mouth was extremely dry.

I got dressed and went downstairs for a cigarette. I was slowly regaining the vague recollections of what happened the night before. I remember going to the McDonalds across the street. I was hungry and wanted food, but for some reason I forgot to bring money. I hope I didn't forget pants entirely... but oh well whatever, I can't change the past. I remembered smoking out of my hotel room window. I was listening to music at the time and hope I wasn't singing to people walking down the street.

I felt so sick. I went over to the McDonalds to get some food. I walked in and looked at the menu. Royale with Cheese. I have to get that. If you don't know what a Royale with Cheese is, I suggest you get with the times and go watch Pulp Fiction. I ordered my food it was 6.50 Euro, still cheaper than Australia. There was a cute girl standing at the counter next to me. She had long, curly, light brown hair and a nice smile. She was wearing a red jacket. The jacket was like a 'Barosque' era jacket and she was holding a folder with Vienna written on it. She just kept looking at me and smiling and I smiled back. I was going to say "I like your jacket", but decided against it. I wasn't sure how my words were being pronounced and opted against being seen as the guy who's already drunk at midday. I wasn't sure I was actually capable of a conversation at that point in time and she'd probably only try to sign me up for some tour or something anyway.

I got my food and found a table in a corner by myself. After I ate, I left and went to the Billa nearby and got some bottles of water. I went back to the hotel and wrote the story about the train trip to Vienna. Midway through writing the story, I got bored and decided to walk around town a little.

Vienna is the most beautiful city I have been to yet. It has all the charm of the old buildings and architecture and prides itself on the art and classical music roots of it's past. Some might use the term 'Arty' or 'Intellectual' to describe Vienna, but for me it's not like that. I have always used that term to describe Melbourne, only Vienna has a right to be proud of it's history and culture. I never liked Melbourne all that much, but I love Vienna. Melbourne came across to me as kind of snobbish, however Vienna seems very accessible.

I walked around the main city centre which surrounds the hotel, took some pictures, bought some souveneirs, withdrew some money from an ATM and headed back to the hotel. I wrote some more of the previous story.

I was starting to feel better and decided I should eat again. It was about 5:00 PM. I finished off the story, then went downstairs and asked about going to the other hotel restaurant that is on the 10th floor. The receptionist said it was booked out for the next 2 days. I went back upstairs and watched some sport on TV. It was the Eurosport channel. It had some Billiards championship, but it was boring. I played on the internet for awhile and at about 8:00 PM went to Mcdonalds for for 2 McDoubles. A McDouble is a double cheeseburger. That cost me 3 Euro and I took them back to the hotel.

I devoured them in short time and then went to bed shortly after that as I was extremely tired.
